Designed to be simple
ChatGPT is the thinking and conversational interface, where the user's account supports the needed tool permissions. Zodway provides the local connection, capabilities and project state. It does not replace the AI brain with another mandatory paid model.
Pre-release documentation: this is the planned user journey. Our current development source is not yet a portable, verified Mac app. A new Free ChatGPT account has not yet been proven to support write-enabled custom MCP tools.
Install the Mac app
When a verified release exists, download the exact Zodway application archive, check its published hash and place the app in Applications. Early unsigned test builds may require a user-approved macOS security exception.
Connect your supported ChatGPT account
The first-run wizard will configure the local MCP connection and guide you through any ChatGPT-side authorisation. The app should confirm both the connection and whether your account can actually invoke tools.
Choose a local project
Create a fresh workspace or select an existing authorised folder. The app must show which directories are in scope and request approval before changing files.
Ask ChatGPT to build something
Try a small website. The AI should use actual registered tools to create files, run approved checks, provide a local preview and show a result with receipts.
Resume another day
Close the application or start a new conversation. Durable project state should recover the last working version, tests and next actions—without duplicating work.
First three tasks we are testing
- Build: create and preview a genuine website from a beginner's instruction.
- Fix: repair a visible error, review the difference, test and roll back safely.
- Continue: restore an exact project checkpoint after a restart or new chat.
